Defeat is not your final answer. Depression will not be your epitaph. Consider this, God made you special! There is more to you than the visible eye can see. What’s even more important is that you’ve got making “IT” in you! Don’t give-up now. Fight that depressed mood, lost hope and sadness. Reach deep down inside of you and there you will find HOPE. Hope that restores and Hope that cures brokenness.

What is all the buzz surrounding Tiger Woods? Foolishness, of course. Tiger had to apologize and do what seemed correct in the public’s eye. I am sure he had been schooled and scripted perfectly, but there is still one question: Does this man have a sexual conscious? This one, I can not quite call. I’ve watched his apology, but was not too convinced of his sincerity. Good effort though! The truth of the matter is that there are NO more good role models. In essence, Tiger, get yourself together. The recurrent sexcapades are inappropriate and unacceptable. Your mission, another modern day lynching of a Black Man, has been accomplished. However, this time for the right cause. Tiger, don’t forget you are BLACK/African-American. This seems to  be the root of some of his  problems, in my opinion. If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, it is a Duck.

• Tort Reform vs. Frivilous Lawsuits
• The sick are getting sicker (more time is needed).
• High malpractice premiums
• Tired of the Fight

These days, practicing medicine is becoming more of a fight than an art. We took a pledge, “First Do No Harm.” This is our charge and what we must do. I applaud congress for their efforts, but ALL things must be considered before a final plan is developed.

Question: You are attracted to your married pastor. What should you do?

Response: Absolutely nothing. Even if he is also interested, stay away. You will end up with a scarlet letter in every case.

You have a choice to help a family member, in dire need, or pay your tithes. Which one should you do?

How many of you are in a bad marriage? What is a bad marriage? Here are a few of the signs:

• No intimacy and/or No sex.
• Your spouse is Gay (more common than you think).
• He/She will not work.
• Pre-Existing Illnesses
• IRS troubles existing before you, which now include you.

Now that you are in the marriage, it is easier than getting out. However, here are some quick recommendations:

• Do Not Stay in an unhealthy marriage.
• Try counseling before divorce.
• Be realistic.
• Don’t be too surprised by the outcome.
• Let Go when it is that time.

A lot of people state that you can’t buy happiness. That is a lie. You can’t buy all of happiness, but a little shopping sure takes the pain away. Now you probably want the statistics, so here we go:

1. What percentage of my patients, that have a diagnosis of depression, has money listed as a key issue?
2. What percentage of fail marriages, in my practice, has finance as a primary cause?
3. What percentage of my forensics patients, commit crimes as a result of economic challenge?
4. Seriously, how many of you reading this article, can honestly say that money is NOT that important?

Ethics (noun): A principle that most Politicians don’t own.

Ethics (verb): An action word that you will not find performed by most politicians.

Ethics (Pronoun): Does not exist amongst politicians.

How do you tell your spouse/lover that you are no longer interested in them? This is actually easier than you’d think. People now prefer honesty. Day-in and day-out in my office, I see couples with this issue. I teach the infusion of honesty. The fact is, I don’t preach divorce, but some relationships are just unhealthy. Abused people see the world differently. They have a thwarted view on reality. Therefore, sometime they cannot see their way out.
Now, if you are feeling like you are no longer interested, you probably are not. The real answer is for you to be transparent. Let your lover/spouse know how you are currently feeling about them. If they have become too fat, tell them. They may be ready to leave themselves. If your are no longer interested, then you may become abusive so just leave.
On the other hand, if you feel like your spouse/lover is no longer interested in you, ask them immediately. Don’t hang on to lost hope. Encourage yourself, move-on and continue living. Now will you experience and emotional roller-coaster maybe or maybe not. However, if you settle for being mistreated and abused, it will only get worse. If you change, will he or she stay? Usually, if they do, it is only temporary. When it is over, it is usually over for good. Most of us realize when it is over, but we cannot stand the impending depression. When you can identify the issue that leads to your depression, you can abate it quicker. It is the endogenous, long-term, insidious depression that kills. You can get out if you really want to be a success.
Final Synopsis:
Once the thrill is gone, part as friends and re-build your own life.

1. Accept the fact that it is an abusive and unhealthy relationship. You have control to stop the cycle. You may begin to experience anxiety, depression, and worry, but that is better than the abuse.

2. Search the home for any weapons (i.e. guns and knives) and remove them when the abusive partner is not in the home.

3. Plan, calculate, and execute your departure from the abusive space.

4. Don’t go to the first place he/she will look. You may have to spend a few weeks or months in a hide-a-way shelter to insure your safety.

5. Save up emergency funds for a rainy day. It is sure to come.

6. Check out schools in the new area, so that there will not be a break in your children’s education.

7. Go and set-up your own bank accounts, at a different bank, independent of your lover/spouse.

8. Speak with a spiritual counselor if you need the added support. A local psychiatrist or therapist may be needed, also.

9. Let him/her go and don’t look back. If you do, you will turn to salt. Fight the urge to stay there and continue being abused. After abuse, comes depression, and then comes suicide.

10. Be ready to accept the emotional pain and seek-out professional help if things become unbearable.

11. Do not answer his/her calls.

12. Close the chapter immediately. Time heals all wounds. Believe this and live by this mantra.
